The University of Toledo will recognize those faculty members selected as Outstanding Faculty Researchers and Scholars at an awards ceremony on Monday, April 17, 2017, in the Student Union. The award will recognize the quality and contributions of faculty research, scholarship and creative activity undertaken while a faculty member at The University of Toledo . The Outstanding Research and Scholarship Award recognizes outstanding research, scholarship, and creative activity across the spectrum of disciplines on this multi-campus university. Winners receive a monetary prize as well as formal recognition at the Outstanding Faculty Awards Ceremony.
Eligibility: Books must have been published or distributed in the United States during the calendar year. Nominations of individual books may come from publishers, the membership of NCTE, and from the educational community at large. The books can be picture books, novels, graphic novels—any type of fiction—and they should have exemplary literary quality of text and illustrations. In addition, the books should connect children to their own humanity and offer them a rich experience with the power to influence their lives and stretch their thinking, feelings, and imagination.
Book prizes are given to outstanding students nominated by their German instructors. The books are donated to the Department of German Studies by the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany.
